I delivered my X6 system to its new home in Fort Myers Beach (Florida) at the end of January. There was some excitement taking it through US Customs, after I explained what I was doing they were very helpful.
On the return trip, Canada Customs seemed suspicious... "you went to Florida for 4 days???". It was like they were looking for something.

Air2You website expanded
I've decided that the Air2You website will remain online even though I no longer own the equipment.
Hopefully the site will be used as a resource for those of you that are interested in UAS/UAV technology and applications.
I've also created a resources page on the site dedicated to the Canadian UAS/UAV market. It contains all sorts of information that was not readily available when I first became interested in this technology.
As of Jan 2012: Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) & Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) are now the terms preferred for usage by ICAO [instead of unmanned aircraft (UA) & unmanned aircraft system (UAS)].
Who knows, I may wind up doing SFOC consulting for firms that are trying to work their way through the SFOC application process (tangled web might be a better description).

Selling my Draganfly X6 system
Unfortunately, interest in commercial low altitude aerial photography in this region was far less than we expected.
Our X6 has a new home in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. It's sad to see it go after all the time, effort and training that has been invested in this project, but the lack of interest in low altitude aerial photography in this region made keeping the system almost pointless. I'll be flying to Florida in January 2012 to provide a weekend of hands-on training for the new owners (SWF Management).
